Platform in Social Innovation: Service-Learning and Transdisciplinary Pedagogies Pathway

Service-Learning at the University of Cincinnati, the birthplace of the Cooperative Education, is an experiential learning opportunity offered to students in more than 300 courses across the university. Over 5000 students participate each year in undergraduate courses which combine student reflection and structured participation in community-based projects to achieve specified learning outcomes as part of an academic course and/or program requirement. Not only does the student gain practical application of the content being studied, but it offers equitable access to coop-style engagement and experience under the joint leadership of a faculty member and community partner.

For questions on our open access platform or to contribute to the Service-Learning Pathway contact Elizabeth Scarpelli, Director, University of Cincinnati Press & Cincinnati Library Publisher Services or Daniel Mattox, Assistant Editor, University of Cincinnati Press.
