Making Sense of Service Learning in Cincinnati (Conference Pre-read)
In anticipation of the 21st WACE (World Association of Cooperative Education) conference August 3-7 2019, the University of Cincinnati Press is publishing two chapters of a forthcoming book by panelist Michael J. Sharp, CRITICAL CURRICULUM AND JUST COMMUNITY, as an open-access conference pre-read.
This action-oriented research study illuminates the history and complexity of service learning at the University of Cincinnati. Through detailing key watershed moments that have underscored the program’s evolution, the book reveals important additions to theory, which have implications for other service learning programs, the field of urban education leadership, and literature pertaining to campus-community organizing and experiential learning.
